Friends, Readers, & Macabre Mobsters,
Good morning!
A brief note today to let you all know my first anthology appearance is out in the world today! You can find my most recent published short story “Into the Casbah” in The Midnight Labyrinth from Grendel Press, available via Kindle Unlimited (so free for those who subscribe) or via paperback, at Amazon.
In “Into the Casbah,” we witness the early days of the Iraq War through the eyes of a journalist embedded with a US Army Infantry squad on patrol, there to write a “puff piece” for her woman’s magazine back in the States. When a massive sand storm bears down on the team, they are forced to take refuge in the ruins of an ancient city where things aren’t quite what they appear.
I hope you enjoy it!
What am I reading? I am on a little Grady Hendrix kick right now, having just finished We Sold Our Souls, and am now about a quarter of the way into his newest release, Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. We Sold Our Souls delivered the goods in the most bonkers manner possible, and Witchcraft is off to a fantastic start, settling into the lives of unwed and pregnant teenage girls trying to make their way, abandoned by their families at home in rural 1970 Florida.
Let me know what you think of the books!
